How to add intellisense support for libraries ?

Jul 26, 2013 at 7:31 PM
Hey guys ,

I'm developing with a library called "pysphere" -

which exposes a vSphere (esx client) api for python .
I'd really like to have the intellisense working here , it won't recognize neither
the import nor the classes or anything .
I don't think the library exposes a .pyd , can I still add this intellisense support somehow ?

Thank you so much

Usually you can just install the package and then re-generate the intellisense database. Previously you had to go to Tools->Options->Python Tools->Interpreter Options to do that, but now there's the interpreters/environments window which you can open with Ctrl-K-` (it's also available under View->Other Windows). You should be able to open that up and it should show the status of the database. Click Refresh and it'll update it.

Once that's done you should have completions. If it's not working after that let us know as we'd like to track down any underlying issues there.
