Proposal: variable explorer

I wonder myself, whatever it is possible to make PTVS, which is in fact, an excellent environment for developing applications, more valuable for some scientific kind of work. I guess, PTVS is lacking something very important for working with data – some kind of matlab/spyder-like variable explorer for the active python shell. The ability to edit values may be not that important, but the ability to recognize and show the variables in tabular form is very valuable for everyone, who is working with scientific data.

Still, thanks a lot for the excellent peace of work.

i think this is a good idea as well.  note that VS has support for custom type visualizers which to certain extent addresses this.  but what you really want for data is a quick grid for matrices for example that shows the data, can graph it, do simple spreadsheet like operations on it, etc.
one other thing to consider is our Excel live pipe: Pyvot - it's a grid on steroids, but slightly less convenient for quick viewing:
i added a new issue for this.  please vote up!
