Start debugging django project without launching browser?

I've setup a django project. After clicking Start Debugging it launches a new tab in my browser. This is really annoying, most of the time I already have a browser tab open to the page I'm debugging. Is there a way to start debugging without launching the browser?

I'm using Pytools 2.1 RC, Python 2.7, Django 1.6, Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

We should copy the "Start web browser on launch" checkbox that we have in NTVS.

FWIW, this applies to all our web projects, as we don't have any special handling for Django anymore.

Voted! I've setup flask project for restful API development. I'm using restful api test client most of time. I need to start debugging without launching browser also.

I found a workaround.
  • Make a executable that does nothing (or grab this one
  • In the Run debug button (where says Chrome, Firefox, etc , click the down arrow for the dropdown menu
  • Select "Browse with..."
  • Add your Nothing.exe and set it as default
  • Debug your project with "Nothing browser"
