Azure web site publish & linked files error

description

My attached project has a linked file, where the file it links to is outside of the project folder.

I'm getting this error when publishing, or previewing a publish (the InvalidParameter error, not the warning):
------ Build started: Project: flaskpolls, Configuration: Debug Any CPU ------
C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v12.0\Python Tools\Microsoft.PythonTools.Web.targets(792,5): warning : Using old configuration tools. Add the Web Role support files to your project to use the updated deployment tools.
------ Publish started: Project: flaskpolls, Configuration: Debug Any CPU ------
Error: InvalidParameter
Parameter name: index
========== Build: 1 succeeded, 0 failed, 0 up-to-date, 0 skipped ==========
========== Publish: 0 succeeded, 0 failed, 0 skipped ==========
After getting the error, the publish keeps going and it doesn't look like it ever finishes (either a preview or a real publish).

My hope would be that the file gets published as if it existed physically in the project folder. If that's not possible, we should try to have a better error, something that mentions that linked files aren't supported.

I've hit this issue with a multi-project solution where I reuse identical files in many projects, so I put a single copy of the files in a shared folder, and link to them from the various projects.
