Publish profiles (.pubxml) part of the project?

description

When you publish to an azure web site, an msbuild property is added to the project:
<NameOfLastUsedPublishProfile>

This points to a .pubxml that holds the profile. The .pubxml is created in the project directory, but for Django, we don't add publish profiles to the project.

I noticed that in ASP.NET projects, the .pubxml files get added to the project. That way the msbuild property above makes a bit more sense. If the files .pubxml files didn't live under source control, then the msbuild property above really should be in a .proj.user file. But it looks like they intended the publish profiles to live under source control.

Are we suppressing the add to the project step? Or is it our responsibility? Do we want those files in our projects?
