PTVS vs PyDev

Jan 7, 2015 at 10:05 AM
I'v just crush-landed from C# , SharpMap and MS-Sql_server into qgis , python and postgis; I'm new to it , i could be wrong, but for me , PyDev in Eclipse DOES have autocompletion for qgis.core.QgsDataSourceURI() , but PTVS hasn't got it ...

I have managed to run&debug the code in PTVS, but there's no IntelliSense.

Are you missing Intellisense on just that function, or on everything in qgis and postgis?

If the latter, can you make sure that it finished building the completion database for your Python? You can see the state and progress in Tools -> Python Tools -> Python Environments.

i'm new, but not THAT new. that much i know: first thing to do after setting an environment, is refreshing the database. and yes, everything in qgis hasn't got autocompletion, but nonetheless, the whole code, including the qgis code gets executed & debugged beautifully...
But , as i'v said, the standard python code has got intelisense, qgis code ...
