Extra static folder

What is nice way to add extra static folder in Python/Django project. It seems to override web.config everytime I publish project?

STATICFILEDIRS is not working alone.

Motivation to ask is that I'd like to add my single page angular html5 application with Django backend into the same web server.

If you look in your project's properties (right-click the project in Solution Explorer and select Properties) under Web/Django then you'll find the settings we use to automatically generate the web.config.

You may be able to achieve what you want here, but if not, you can delete the comment at the top of the web.config file and include it in your project - this will prevent us from regenerating it (and it also means that many settings inside VS will no longer take effect unless you manually edit the web.config).
