Output window. Double click on traceback to go to code

Sep 19, 2014 at 6:32 PM

I've spent some time googling it, but couldn't find the answer.
Currently if there is an exception, it goes to debug window like this:
" File "FilePath", line LineNumber, in FunctionName"
But VS wants it to be in format "FilePath(Line)|ToolName:message" to be clickable:
I couldn't find a way neither to change VS behaviour, nor how python outputs its traceback (I mean easy solutions)

Do you know any easy solutions?

I don't think there are any easy solutions. Visual Studio is fairly fussy about the format that it will understand, and Python is fixed to display that format. It's probably easier to override Python's sys.__excepthook__ method to print the exception differently, but this is not trivial.

We should consider doing it when running in our debugger though, so I'll copy this to a feature request.
