Edit & Continue for PTVS?

While browsing the issues list, I saw the Edit & Continue entry.

Edit and Continue is a feature unique to MS development tools. I remember using it with Visual Basic 3, described in the manual as "Using Break Mode". Here's the page from the internet archive, for the nostalgic types:
https://archive.org/stream/MicrosoftVisualBasic3.0ProgrammersGuide#page/n225/mode/2up

That was 20 yrs ago. Yes, I'm old, but not THAT old. I was young back then :)

It's been a feature of the .Net languages (C# and VB), and native C/C++, and Office VBA, for as long as I can remember (although I do remember I think .Net 1.0/1.1 it was not included)

I think any implementation of this for PTVS, even if limited or some workaround, such as a custom Python build, would be awesome. I'm aware of the existing hacks, such as reimport:
https://code.google.com/p/reimport/

I do use reimport on occassion, but to me it pales in comparison to being able to change a line, apply changes, set the execution point on that line, and step forward.

Please vote up the issue if you agree. I'm also interested in any comments about technical feasability.
