Using conda from PTVS 2 to update anaconda

I am new to Python and visual studio both!
I have been able to set up PTVS and run existing python projects on it.
I am using Anaconda for Py2.7. How do I update my packages using conda?
I can find commands to do so. I can do things like 'import conda' on the interactive terminal. But how do I actually run commands for e.g. 'conda info'. I get a response from terminal saying invalid syntax. It is probably a very dumb question if you know how overall everything works.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks.

conda is a command line tool. We would have to add special support for it to be able to use it, but since we haven't your best choice is to use it from a command prompt.

We have previous we discussed adding support for conda, but our current focus is on pip.
