Build / Post-Change event

Jan 9, 2014 at 3:17 PM

I've been using Python VS for over a year now and I really like it! It made my 3d software tool development much easier.

Is there any way in a python project to monitor if a file part of it was changed and to trigger sort of a build step like the post build events from c++ projects?

I have a mixed solution containing c#, cpp and python projects all together and would like to run a post-build batch process to distribute content of the python project to the output directory of the solution.

Our "builds" for regular Python projects are not true builds currently (i.e. they don't really invoke MSBuild, or do anything, really, other than reporting success). However, this will change in the upcoming release once that code is merged back from NTVS. Once it's there, you should be able to use the standard MSBuild customization points (BeforeBuild/AfterBuild targets etc).
