PTVS installation to the alternative directory

Hello @all. I have installed Visual Studio 2013 in D:\VisualStudio2013.
Is there a way to install PTVS without reinstalling VS to default location?

Are you having any particular problems with it? We don't hardcode VS location - it is taken from the registry.

PTVS cannot find VS installation (but VS works).
It says:
<snip>
"Visual Studio 2013 must be installed. The free integrated shell...."
</snip>

I am running:
  • Windows 7 ultimate N, 64bit
  • Visual Studio Express 2013 for Desktop (installed in D:\VisualStudio2013).
  • PTVS 2.0 VS 2013
Thanks!

The registry key where the installer looks for VS is HKLM\Software\Microsoft\VisualStudio\12.0 (under Wow6432Node if on 64-bit), value "InstallDir". Can you check that it is set correctly on your system? If not, try setting it.

Great!
I had to add it manually - it installs now.
Thanks a lot!
