Unable to hit breakpoints in templates

Nov 17, 2013 at 9:21 PM
I am using PTVS 2.0, python 3.3 64bit, django 1.6.

I went through entire tutorial, all good apart from one thing: I'm unable to hit breakpoints that I set up in .html templates. Breakpoints set in .py files are hit as expected.

Can someone help me ? The Poll application is working fine, could it be that template debugging does not work with Python 3.3?

It's very likely that template debugging does not work with Python 3.3.

We've focused on Django 1.4-1.5 (because they were the most recent versions when we released) on 32-bit Python 2.7 (because that's what runs on Windows Azure Web Sites), so you're in quite experimental territory here. Because we've had to handle the source mapping from Django's template processor back to the HTML, every time they change their code we may need to update ours.

One feature request that we have open is to support creating projects with different Django versions, which we will try and look into for PTVS 2.1. Any multi-version work we do here should include Python 3.3 at this point, since that's what we're recommending (though it may be some time before 3.3 shows up on WAWS).
