Create Project from Existing Python Code does not work

Sep 6, 2013 at 7:51 AM
When I select
File > New > Project...
Installed Templates > Other Languages > Python > From Existing Python Code
then nothing happens. Nothing at all.
The Create New Project From Existing Python Code wizard does not appear.

I am using PTVS 2.0 Beta with MSVS 2010.

We've had one bug related to Project from Existing Code wizard not working that was fixed since beta:
But this only happens on localized VS builds; and it sounds like you're using English version.

Then there are these two (which might actually be dupes):

But note that the one case where we did have an intermittent repro was when there was already a project open when invoking the wizard.

If none of these sound like they fit your scenario, then I would suggest waiting for RC (which is coming very soon) to see if it fixes your problem, as there were a number of other fixes in that code. Or, if you're feeling impatient, you can try grabbing the most recent sources and building them yourself - this will give you all the fixes in that area that went in for RC.
