Cannot paste when debugging in Interactive window

When some code running in an Interactive window (whose Interactive mode has been set to IPython) stops due to an error one can type debug() immediately (before entering any other commands) to start debugging. In PTVS doing so enables you to debug within the Interactive window. You are shown a few code lines around the line where the error occurred, with an arrow showing the error line. Then one can type "u" (without the quotes) to go up the stack and investigate the source of the error.

All this is great. The only problem is that the Interactive window does not accept pasting. If I copy text either from the Interactive window itself or from elsewhere and try to paste it in the Interactive window nothing happens. The behavior is the same whether pasting with Ctrl+V, Shift+Ins, or with the mouse. It is inconvenient to have to type the code you want to execute while investigating the source of the error.

Question: is there a way to have the Interactive window accept pasting?

Thanks for the help.
