Not Working in VS 2012

I've been playing around with Visual Studio 2012 and IronPython doesn't seem to work in it. Every time I start debugging, it just builds and then does nothing, whereas in VS 2010 it actually launches the dialog. I've looked at the configurations for the exact same project (it's just from a template), they look identical, yet VS 2010 correctly launches the dialog while VS 2012 does nothing. Has anybody else encountered this?

We have not seen this. Is this with 1.5 RTM or 2.0 Alpha? Which edition of VS 2012? WPF or Windows Forms? What happens if you start without debugging?

If you go to Tools/Python Tools/Diagnostic Info you can copy/paste some useful info for us to look at.

I don't see anything about 1.5 RTM or 2.0 Alpha, it's whatever one is installed by default I guess.
Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate, Version 11.0.60315.01 Update 2
It's a WPF project, but the issue remains with Windows Forms. If I start without debugging, nothing happens, it just says that it built successfully in less than 1 second, then nothing shows up.

Like I said too, the same project runs just fine in VS 2010, so I'm not quite sure what to make of it

There's isn't a copy of PTVS installed "by default", unless you've accidentally installed IronPython Tools.

Grab one of our installers from our Downloads page and install it. You'll get an error if IronPython Tools are installed - to uninstall them, you'll need to run the IronPython installer again and make sure to deselect it.

Looking at the downloads page, I definitely remember using the VS 2012 Alpha 2.0 installer, I just ran the installer again and ran "repair", but that has had no effect. I'd like to note too that this happens with the generic IronPython application template. For instance, if I do "New Project -> Python -> IronPython Windows Forms Application (or IronPython WPF Application)", it still does not show any forms, it just builds and does nothing else

I take some of that back, if I do a templated project it will launch if I start without debugging, so maybe I just screwed something up in that other project to make it not work. I'll figure something out, I'm thankful for your help in the matter

This sounds like something we should investigate. I've created an issue for it.

can you please try this with 2.0 beta and let us know whether there's an issue still? thanks!
