"One or more files in your project contain errors."

Which files?  How do I find where the errors are?

Is there anyway to validate all python files in the project and see a list of errors?  (Like the compiler output for C# and C++, for example...)

Without basic functionality such as this, I don't see myself using PTVS for very long.

They should appear in the Error List window, which can be activated under the View menu (or possibly View->Other Windows, depending on your settings).

These are only parser errors and won't tell you about uninitialized variables. If you want validation that uses static analysis you should look at pylint (which we don't currently integrate, so you'll have to use it from a command prompt, but we do have an open feature request for this at http://pytools.codeplex.com/workitem/162 if you'd like to vote for it).

Ah, brilliant.

I never use the error/task window for C#/C++ development, so didn't even think of looking there.

Thanks,
